Stress can be either acute or chronic. Acute stress may be triggered by sudden events such as loosing a job or a loved one. Chronic stress is experienced over a longer period of time. Experiencing stress that is seemingly unending, one may suffer from a sense of hopelessness and heightened negative emotions that disturb the normal operations of the body.

The results vary among individuals but may include heart diseases, chronic indigestion, back pain, migraine, headaches, fatigue, discomfort, ulcer, arthritis, diabetes, a lowered immunity, etc. A lowered immunity further means developing allergies, frequent cough and cold etc. Similarly, stress leads to various digestive problems rampant in our country, whether it is simple indigestion, constipation, ulcer or gastroenteritis. Though various external stimuli can also disrupt the immune or digestive systems but stress is the obvious one!

Stress can create havoc in our lives as it can lead to mental and heart ailments. In order to deal with it scientifically and practically, we must first identify the various factors causing stress.

Stress is a Mismanagement of Time

Swami Vishvas Ji explains: "Sometimes, stress is purely a matter of mismanaged time. When we spend too much time dwelling in the past or worrying about the future, it steals our lovely present moments. A preoccupied mind can never be at rest. Traveling into the past or future can help us learn from past mistakes or set goals and visions for the future, but if we make the past or future our permanent home - the problem begins! Unnecessary thinking is the prime reason for stress. We should travel into the past or future but we should live in the present. This is the best and the most direct way to avoid stress."

Another major factor that leads to stress is Over Ambition

The over ambitious mind wants to build Rome in a day - if we don't get the desired results at that point in time, it leads to more misery than ever before. Ambition can lead us to our goals but over ambition simply robs us of our sense of acceptability!

"If one does not learn to be happy 'now', how will one be happy in the future?", asks  Swami Ji.

Sometimes it is the Words of Others that lead to hurt and sufferings

It could be the boss at work or family and friends passing unpleasant or unreasonable remarks - the need is to know where to draw the line! We may correct people on the surface and stop at that. But if we continue with a never-ending postmortem such as 'why such words were said, what did I do to deserve it, was it right on the other's part to say it, I do so much and is this what I get in return?' ..... it leads to a whirlpool of thoughts that we eventually find ourselves unable to get out of.

As Swami Ji says, "The mind is full of thoughts of others and the other is hell for us! It results in unmanageable stress."

Remember, the external factors may not be in our control but how we choose to react to them definitely is! Vishvas Meditation builds this practicality - as it is a very scientific way of dealing with stress and finally overcoming it.

Swami Ji further adds, "Stress is very commonly treated as a problem or a disease. But is stress really a problem? Not always! Stress can be helpful when we need to meet a deadline. During times of emergency or crises, a reasonable amount of stress can act as a catalyst in bringing out more efficiency and thus a better performance. If stress speeds up your action-taking ability, i.e. it helps you to take the right action at the right time which you would not have taken otherwise, handle it positively. Stress is only there to assist you, push you forward and more importantly - pull you through the job! However, the problem occurs when stress lingers on for a longer period of time and people mistake it for being 'normal'. This is a mistake. Long-term stress damages health, throwing the normal functioning of the body into imbalance. Now, how do we figure out where we stand? The measuring rod is very simple. If stress brings you to a stage where you feel you have had enough it's an alarming bell. It's time to set things right!"

Meditation serves as an instant Solution to stress

Vishvas Meditation calms the mind, providing a healthy mental state that is fully equipped to handle all kinds of stress.

The mind is always in a state of doing. Your identification with the mind at all times makes you spend all energy, causing stress and strain. Vishvas Meditation enhances the mind-body's natural energy field, clearing the mind of all the imbalances without letting them degenerate into emotional or psychological symptoms.

Here's how?

Vishvas Meditation is a state of complete relaxation - a state of non doing where you do not struggle, do not fight, do not suppress, repress, judge or condemn the mind at all. It is the simplest, natural and effortless form of meditation where you simply remain a non doer and watch your mind, your thoughts - without any participation, identification, concentration, judgements or analysis.

This simple process of witnessing as a neutral energy, dissolves all unnecessary thoughts naturally, cleansing all distractions and stress-inducing chemicals produced by your busy brain. Now, the same energy that was getting used up by the mind in unnecessary thinking, gets free and begins to flow freely up the spine. This happens automatically in natural meditation. You do not have to make any efforts to imagine or visualize this phenomenon. This natural upward flow of energy re-energizes the whole mind-body, bringing all the chemicals and hormones of the body into complete balance. As a result, you begin to feel healthier, happier and more balanced. All negative emotions such as stress, tensions, anger, hypertension, reactions, irritability, moodiness, depression, feelings of loneliness and isolation begin to diminish.

Vishvas Meditation dissolves all unnecessary thinking naturally, breaking all identifications with the mind very easily, helping you regain your awareness, awakening and mastership over the mind in an effortless way. The increased self-awareness that it provides, improves the mental state from lifting the mood to clearing symptoms of severe stress, depression and other negativities - providing greater confidence and self esteem, hence improving our self concept and enabling us to view life in a more positive and relaxed way.

REMEMBER

Vishvas Meditation makes you more familiar with the working of your mind and body, enabling you to take decisions that are more apt to bring you in touch with the way things work for you in this world and that means - you live your life more intelligently and peacefully.
